Early U.S. The Department of History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time tenure-track beginning assistant professor position in American history, colonial through the early national periods (1600s to 1815) to begin August 16, 2010. All subfields invited to apply; department especially welcomes applicants working in Atlantic world, borderlands, slave trade and slavery, sexuality, military, legal or environmental history. A PhD is required at time of appointment. Salary competitive.
